Snowshoeing – when life gives you snow, go snowshoeing!
Snowshoeing is a wonderful way of exploring the geopark in winter and enjoy the great outdoors, especially if walking is more your thing than skiing! Unlike most other sports, snowshoeing doesn’t require lessons or years of practice to perfect. If you can walk, you can snowshoe. Simply strap them on and go explore.
When using snowshoes, your feet don’t sink into the snow which gives you the option to follow the way marked trails or live on the wild side and explore the forest, lakes and landscapes of the geopark, off the beaten track! Snowshoeing safaris are a particularly fun activity and different options are available to suite your or your group’s needs, for example a guided walk through the snow encrusted forest to a lean-to shelter with sausages roasting over an open fire!
