Summer Activities

You can walk, cycle, and paddle within Rokua Geopark’s network of hiking routes. As a rule, the routes are well marked, and there are many resting places with campfire sites and outdoor toilets.

Along the routes you can find several guide boards, which describe the geology, nature, history and culture of the area. Throughout the area from Oulu to Rokua, you can also find a route called “The Route of Tar of Oulujokilaakso Valley”. In the summertime, the route can be taken by mountain bike or on foot.

The enterprises in the area offer guided hiking tours for travellers. The routes vary from easy to demanding.

Hiking

The hiking routes of Geopark offer different options, both for beginners and for more experienced hikers.
